接吻 – 作詞・作曲：田島貴男 Los Quienes EXTRA

サルサバンド “Los Quienes”のスピンオフ企画 “Los Quienes EXTRA”。 第二弾でお届けするのはオリジナルラブの”接吻”です。 Vocal : 白壁慶子 Chorus : 岡本 真理子（まりーな） Drums and Percussions : TAKAFUMI Arrange, Piano, Programing : くりあきはじめ （作詞・作曲：田島貴男） 原曲のご紹介は不要でしょう、オリジナルラブの代表曲と言ってもいいほど有名ですね。非常に硬派な原曲のテイストを活かしつつ、サルサ編成のドラマティックさを加えてアレンジしました。楽しんでいただけたら幸いです。

Sweet Memories – 作詞：松本隆、作曲：大村雅朗 Los Quienes EXTRA

サルサバンド “Los Quienes”のスピンオフ企画として、レパートリーをリアレンジ、レコーディングする活動を立ち上げました。題して”Los Quienes EXTRA”。 第一弾でお届けするのは”Sweet Memories”です。 Vocal : 岡本 真理子（まりーな） Chorus : 白壁慶子 Percussion : TAKAFUMI Arrange, Piano, Programing : くりあきはじめ （作詞：松本隆、作曲：大村雅朗） この曲はライブでも中心的なレパートリーでしたが、せっかくのレコーディング企画ということで、ホーンセクションやコーラスも入れた本格アレンジにしてみました。気に入っていただけたら幸いです。

Waltz No.7 – F. Chopinピアノソロ

宅録シリーズからショパンのワルツ7番です。 中学生くらいの時から練習のレパートリーではありましたが、このように世間に演奏をちゃんと披露するのは初めてです。
ショパンはワルツと題しているカテゴリ以外にもマズルカやポロネーズなど、3拍子の楽曲が無数にあります。これは故郷ポーランドの民族舞踏のスタイルが色濃く反映されているためだと言われています。 主に左手でルート音と和声で3拍子を表現し、右手で流麗なメロディを奏でるというスタイルはピアノソロの鉄板と言えるもので、確立され切っている感じすらします。
さて、ショパンの作ったワルツは19曲と言われていますが、この7番はかなりその中でも有名な方でしょう。誰でも一度は耳にしたことがあるのではないでしょうか。副題に「シャルロット・ド・ロトシルドに献呈」とあり、ショパンの弟子の一人でかなり特別な関係にあった人物へささげられた一曲とのことです。
冒頭の少し跳ねるようなリズムの第一テーマと、急に風景が変わったように登場するさらさらと流れる第二テーマの対比が非常に印象的です。その後一回だけ陽転する展開部を挟みますが、あとはまた第二テーマ→第一テーマ→第二テーマと、すでに登場したストーリーを繰り返すことでこの曲は出来上がっています。この単純とも言える構成を聞き手に飽きさせないために、どのように解釈するのか？というのがこの曲を演奏する際の大きな課題と言えそうです。
また、もっと言ってしまえば第一テーマも第二テーマも、それぞれの中でほとんど同じようなパッセージを繰り返しており、かなりリピート感が強く、うっかりするとしつこい印象を与えてしまいがちです。どう変化をつけるのかは演奏者の工夫が求められるところで、皆さん実に様々なアイデアを盛り込んで弾かれています。 一例をあげると、第一テーマの前後半で明らかな音圧の差を付けたり、第二テーマの前半と後半では全くテンポを変えてみたり、またはメロディの中に聞こえてくる副旋律を強調してみたり。ただし、何事もやりすぎ注意。わざとらしい変化はこの曲がもつ全体の品性を台無しにしてしまうので、そのバランスこそがまた面白いところです。
私も今回の録音に臨むにあたり、練習で色々な解釈を試し、自分としてしっくりくる弾き方を作ってみました。お聴きになって、あ、大切にしたのはここだね、というのに気付いてもらえたら、大変うれしいです。
This is “Waltz No.7” composed by F. Chopin, from my self-recording series. It has been a practice repertoire for so long time, but this is the first time to present my performance to everyone.
In addition to the category entitled Waltz, Chopin has lots of triple-beat songs such as mazurka and polonaise.
It is said that this is because traditional dance style in Poland is strongly reflected in his composition. The playing style like this song can be said to be one of the most established style in piano solo. It is said that Chopin’s waltz includes 19 songs and this “No. 7” is quite famous among them. We can find the subtitle “Dedicated to A Madame la Baronne Nathaniel de Rothschild”, and it shows this song was dedicated to one of Chopin’s disciples who had a very special relationship with him.
The contrast between the first theme, the slightly bouncing rhythm and the second theme with smooth melody is very impressive. There is a development part that turns major only once, but after that, this song is completed by repeating the story that has already appeared (the second theme → the first theme → the second theme). How do you interpret this simple composition so that the listener does not get bored? That seems to be a big challenge when playing this song. In addition, the first theme and the second theme repeat almost the same passages in each of them, and the feeling of repeat is quite strong, and it tends to give a persistent impression if you are not careful. How to make changes requires the ingenuity of the performer, and every pianist is playing with various ideas.
For example, you can make a clear difference in volume between the first and second halves of the first theme, or, change the tempo drastically between the first and second halves of the second theme, or clearly emphasize the sub-melodies in the passages. However, we must be careful not to “overdo”. The balance how much you include your own interpretation is also interesting because the too much changes ruin the overall character of this song.
Before recording, I tried various interpretations in practice and tried to make a style that suits me. I would be very happy if you could notice my own interpretation.

Vera Cruz – Milton Nascimentoピアノ演奏&プログラミングによるラテンアレンジ

宅録シリーズからMilton NascimentoのVera Cruzです。 昔にヴォーカルのライブで伴奏したことがあったように思うのですが、かれこれ20年近く演奏していませんでした。シンプルな曲だけど、一度聴いたら二度と忘れないような印象的なメロディと間奏のリフレイン。知る人ぞ知る名曲だと思います。最近手に入れた鍵盤ハーモニカを活躍させたかったのでブラジル音楽で何か、、と考えていたら宅録でこの曲に取り組むことを思い立ちました。 今回、バックトラックも奮闘しました。久々のストリングス打ち込みに加え、さらに宅録で初めてハモンドオルガンの音も重ねてみました。ピアノも入れて鍵盤楽器３役をやってます。画面が白黒鍵盤だらけで目がちかちかしそうですが、、、そこはご容赦ください。 なお、原曲はもっとしっとりとした感じのアレンジなのですが、トラックを作っているうちになんだか一人で盛り上がってしまい、よりアップテンポの作品になりました。ラストのドラムとコンガのソロバトルも是非お聞きいただければと思います。 映像としては、自分が3人登場するので画面分割の方法を学んで今回初トライです　笑。 画像編集はまだまだ素人ですが、Youtubeにいろいろな解説があって独学で出来るのは本当に助かりますね。 This is ”Vera Cruz” composed by Milton Nascimento, from my self-recording series. It may have been passed about 20 years since I played this song with a vocalist. I think the song itself is very simple, but has very impressive melody and refrain in interlude. This must be one of real masterpieces. I was looking for an opportunity to use my Melodion (Keyboard harmonica) which I obtained recently in Brazilian tunes, and came up with the idea of recording this song. The back track is also the point I focused on this time. The Piano, and Hammond Organ section has been played by me along with Strings programming. Original take of this song has moist feelings, but I arranged it with faster tempo. Please check also the solo battle with drums and congas at the last. I hope you can enjoy.

Beautiful Love – Victor Youngピアノ演奏&プログラミングによるトリオ編成

宅録シリーズからジャズのスタンダード”Beautiful Love”です。ピアノトリオ編成でアレンジ＆プログラミングしてみました。 今回のチャレンジポイントは、ドラムも可能な限りアナログな感じのフィールにすること、そしてドラムソロ！を打ち込んでみたことです。 くりあきお抱えの従順なジャズドラマーによるソロをお楽しみください（笑） この曲は、私がジャズスタンダードの中でも最も気に入っている曲の一つです。曲全体が繊細でありロマンティックで、多くのピアニストが好んでレパートリーにされています。今回は少し浮遊感を出すためにコード進行に少し手を加えています。オリジナル曲は多くの名曲を残しているVictor Youngによる1931年の作品だそうです。 This is one of Jazz standard tune “Beautiful Love” from self-recording series, arranged and programmed in piano trio style. The points I would like you to pay attention especially is making drums analog feelings as much as possible, and also the programming of Drum Solo! Please enjoy the solo-part by my very obedient Drummer! This song is one of the my favorite Jazz standards, filled by very delicate and romantic feelings, and so many pianists play this song as their repertoire. This time, I added some interpretation to the chord progression to give it a slightly floating feel. The original song is composed by Victor Young in 1931, who also created many other masterpieces.

That’s All – Bob Haymes & Alan Brandt ピアノ演奏&プログラミングによるトリオ編成

宅録シリーズから”That’s All”です。ピアノトリオ編成でお届けします。いよいよ長い間課題としていた4ビードジャズの打ち込み作品を世の中に出します！ ラテンや16ビードなどのイーヴンリズムと異なり、スイング感が命の4ビートジャズはアナログ感を出す打ち込みが肝で、今回最も気を付けたポイントです。 この曲はジャズスタンダードとして多くのアーティストが取り上げていますが、特にヴォーカリストに人気の高い一曲ですね。 バラードで歌われることも多いですが、サラ・ヴォーンが”Crazy and Mixed Up”というアルバムで軽快に歌い上げているテイクが有名で、ピアニストとしてローランド・ハナ、ギタリストとしてジョー・パスという名手がサポートしています。 他の収録曲も素晴らしく、こちらは超オススメの一枚です。
This is “That’s All” from my self-recording series, arranged in Piano trio style. This is the first work of 4 beat jazz programming that has been my homework for long time. Different from “Even rhythms” such as Latin music or 16 beats, it is most important for 4 beat jazz to have swinging and analog feelings. This is the point I was most careful about this time. This song has been picked up by many artists as a jazz standard, particularly popular with vocalists. It’s often sung on ballads, but Sara Vaughan has her famous take with light tempo in the album “Crazy and Mixed Up”, supported by great pianist Roland Hana and great guitarist Joe Pass. The other songs in this album are also wonderful, and this is one of the my real recommendation.

It’s a Small World – Sharman Brothersピアノソロ

“It’s a small world” ディズニーのアトラクションで有名なあの曲をピアノソロのバラードにしました。 最近歌の伴奏用にこの曲を録音した機会があり、何とも夢に満ちたコード進行のこの曲、バラードで弾いてみたらきっと素敵になるに違いないと思ったのです。 この曲のパワーはすごい。「世界はひとつ」という、単純だけどめちゃ深いテーマを、子供たちの愛くるしい声で合唱・連呼されたら、大人の事情なんて吹き飛ばすくらいの説得力があるわけです。 ちなみに英語ではサビを It’s a small world after all ! と歌っています。「大人はいつもあれこれ屁理屈言うけど、とどのつまり世界なんてたった一つだろ～？」　そういう歌詞ですね。
This is “It’s a small world” from my self-recording series.　Recently I had a oppotunity to record this tune for song accompaniment, and rediscovered that it has very dreamy chord progression and very good to play on a piano solo. I feel unique power in this tune. “There is just one world” is so simple but the deepest theme for all humankinds. When we listen to the children’s cute choruses and simple messages, the controversy that adults are doing everyday seems to be meaningless.

Love Goes Marching On – M. Sayamaピアノ演奏&プログラミングによるサルサアレンジ

この曲は日本を代表するジャズピアニスト佐山雅弘さんによるもので、私が大学時代からレパートリーとしてよくトリオで弾いていました。 今回はそれを、サルサにリアレンジしてお届けします。 佐山雅弘さんは、私がジャズピアニストを志したきっかけになった一人で、大変親しみやすい音楽を作り、抜群の演奏力を持つ方でしたが、昨年惜しくも亡くなられました。 先日、自分の作品をまとめていたら、自分はサルサバンドをいくつもやっているのに、サルサアレンジの宅録作品はないじゃないか！ということに気づきまして、この機に昔から弾いているこの曲をやってみようと思ったわけです。 佐山さんと個人的には面識はありませんでしたが、一方的に尊敬している大先輩へのトリビュート作品です。是非聴いてください！
This song was composed by Masahiro Sayama, one of great historic Jazz pianist in Japan, and it has been my repertoire since student days. I re-arranged this song to Salsa-style. M. Sayama was one of the person I was really affected and his great performance made me decide to learn Jazz music. He created a lot of friendly songs and had amazing performance skill. But unfortunately, he died last year. I had no direct contact with him, but I hope this work could be a tribute to a great pianist. Please enjoy!

Smile – C. Chaplinピアノソロ

かの有名なチャップリンの曲、Smileのピアノソロです。 初めて自分の宅録演奏シーンを動画にしてみました。 映像技術については全くのド素人の私ですが、今どきのフリーウェアは、見よう見まねでここまで出来る親切設計！驚きです。 世界的、歴史的なCOVID-19の問題は多くの人に深刻な災いをもたらしていますが、家にいる時間が増えたことでこのような勉強が出来るのは私にとっては不幸中の幸いです。皆さまの安全を心から祈ります。
This is “Smile” from my self-recording series. This song was composed by world-wide movie star C.Chaplin, arranged and played on piano solo by H.Kuriaki. For the first time, I tried to record my recording scene on video. I’m a completely amateur in video technology, but now I’m surprised to be able to make such works with freeware. COVID-19 has bring serious damage to all over the world, and unexpectedly increased my time at home, but I could say that I was very fortunate to be able to study like this. I really hope all your safety.

Quiet Girl – B.Childsピアノソロ

私の好きなピアニストの一人にBilly Childsという方がいます。彼の作品の特徴は非常に複雑でありながら洗練されたコードワークで、私のライブラリの中では最もオトナで都会的な作風だと思っています。その中でも私のお気に入り、Quiet Girlという作品をピアノソロで宅録してみました。今回はイメージ映像としてNHKさんの無料コンテンツ、Creative Libraryからニューヨークの風景を中心に使わせていただきました。もともとYoutubeで公開する際には、名曲アルバムみたいな映像が欲しいなあと思っていたので、このような素材はとても有り難いです。

土曜日のサンバ – くりあきはじめピアノ演奏&プログラミングによるジャズサンバアレンジ

オリジナル曲です。2019年のゴールデンウィークにふと思い立ってサンバの曲を書きました。この宅録シリーズではオリジナル曲は初めてですが、今後徐々に出来たらいいなと思っています。
This is my original number ”Samba de Sábado”. All instruments were programmed and played by Hajime Kuriaki.

Heal the World – M. Jacksonピアノソロ

マイケル・ジャクソンのHeal the Worldを3拍子のピアノソロにアレンジしてみました。長年の課題曲だったのですがやっと形になりました。是非聴いてください。 ザ・キング・オブ・ポップのマイケル。圧倒的なステージパフォーマンスで知られていますがレパートリーの多くは彼自身が作ったもので、作曲家としても類まれな存在でした。この曲も彼自身による代表的なバラードです。
This is Michael Jackson’s “Heal the World” from my self-recording series, arranged in triple time and piano-solo style. Michael was well known as a great stage performer, but he was also an excellent composer. This song is one of ballad composed by himself.

Isfahan – D.Ellington & B. Strayhornピアノソロ

ジャズ・スタンダードと呼ぶほど有名ではないかもしれませんが、知る人ぞ知るIsfahanという曲があります。ピアノソロで録音してみました。オリジナルはD.Ellington とB.Strayhornの共作で、とても独特で優雅な雰囲気があり、実は色々なミュージシャンが取り上げています。今回の宅録上達ポイントとして、近接マイクに加え、ピアノから少し離したマイクを使って音をミックスしてみました。やはり自然なツヤが増して、より理想的な音に近づいたと思います。音楽を聴いていただくのにあまり映像を付けるのは好きではないのですが、YouTubeでテキストだけ表示するというのも殺風景ですので、今回は風景写真を付けてみました。なおIsfahanとはイランの街の名前ですが、写真とは関係ありません。。 It’s “Isfahan” in piano solo style, from my self-recording series. Yesterday Once More – Carpentersピアノ演奏＆プログラミングによるピアノトリオ＋ストリングスアレンジ

カーペンターズの代表曲、 “Yesterday Once More” をピアノトリオ+ストリングス風にアレンジしてみました。 今回から独りでDAW仕事で作ったものはOrquesta Hitoriと名乗ってみました。 カーペンターズは私の最も尊敬するバンドの一つです。何度聞いても飽きないオリジナリティと、妥協を許さない演奏のクオリティ！そしてカレンの歌声のふくよかさ！ 数ある傑作のなかでもYesterday Once Moreは私が一番最初にハマった名曲です。 ちょっとずつ曲作りで学んでいることで、今回盛り込んだことは、ストリングスアレンジと、RMSメータを用いた音圧コントロール。 セルフレコーディングは、まだまだ奥が深い！

The Dolphin – Luiz eçaピアノと鍵盤ハーモニカ演奏＆プログラミングによるボサノヴァアレンジ

ボサノヴァの知る人ぞ知る名曲”The Dolphin”です。ピアノと一緒に鍵盤ハーモニカを使ってみました。こういう曲調には良く合います。

Nocturne Op.9 No.2 – F. Chopinピアノソロ

皆さんおなじみの超有名曲。でも実はつい最近まで弾いたことはなかったのです。ピアノを「ちゃんと弾く」練習としてショパンの曲はとてもためになります。小品でも、感覚を研ぎ澄まさないと弾き切ることは絶対できません。この曲は集中的に練習したので、その成果を宅録してみました。
This is the very famous tune “Nocturne” by F. Chopin. Actually, I have not played this song until recently. I sometimes practice his tunes to enhance basic techniques to control the Piano. Even if it is a short song, high concentration is necessary to complete the performance. I have practiced this song intensively, and I would like to record the product or my effort.

Looking Up – M. Petruccianiピアノソロ

ミシェル・ペトルチアーニのLooking Upをピアノソロで録ってみました。私のペトルチアーニとの出会いは、海外旅行に向かう飛行機の機内プログラムでした。ポップなリズムに乗って、とめどなく延々とあふれ出るキラキラフレーズ！一目ぼれ（一耳ぼれ？）でしたね。早速CD屋に行って、初めて彼が先天性の病気で身長1m足らずというハンデキャップがあると知って二度目の度肝を抜かれました。早いもので、もう、亡くなってから20年近くが経とうとしているのですね。。いつまでも心の中のヒーローです!
It’s “Looking Up” composed by M. Petrucciani from my self-recording series. I played this tune on piano solo. I met with his song at the first time by music program in airplane to abroad. I suddenly fell in love with the sound, that has endless sparkling phrases and very popular tastes. After that, I went to the CD shop and surprised again to know that he had handicaps of congenital disease and he was smaller than 1 meter. Time flies, it has been nearly 20 years since he passed away, but he is a eternal hero of mine.

Samba do Avião (ジェット機のサンバ）– A. C. Jobimピアノ演奏＋プログラミングによるボサノヴァアレンジ

記念すべき宅録作品第1号です。ジョビンは数々の名曲を残していますが、その中でもこの曲は特にお気に入りです。航空会社のCMのために作曲したとか？それが後世にスタンダードとして残るなんてなんとも贅沢ですね。
This is the first work of my self-recording series, ”Samba do Avião” composed by A. C. Jobim. He wrote so many famous songs, and this song is one of my strong recommend. It is said that this song was written for advertisement of Airplane company, and now many musicians is playing as standard number.
